Rock'n'roll city

A solid double bill of loud rock'n'roll at Babylon on Friday evening (and Saturday morning, for the pedantic). The resurrected Phantom Shifters launched things with their "usual wall of sound" to paraphrase bassist-lead shouter Ryan Kerr.



Then the Last Vegas delivered some flash'n'trash glam punk. I think these guys have records with any and all of the Drake brothers (Humpers, Joneses, Vice Principals, etc.) on 'em.



Amazingly enough, they are from Chicago and not L.A. More later, though at the rate I'm posting stuff, the emphasis is likely to be on the later and not the more.

• Show reminder: Egads, there's a lot going on! Harshey release their excellent-sounding new CD at Babylon, along with The G-Men, Jerk Appeal and them Bella Bombs; Kill Cheerleader rock Mavericks with Friendly Fire, The Creeps and Radiodazed, Elliott Brood, Centretown Wilderness Club and Dear Judah play Barrymore's; James McKenty & The Spades put on a free show at The Pour House; and as recently mentioned, The Rookers play a Remembrance Day benefit for the Legion at The Dominion (the Sweet Janes are off the bill due to an ill drummer); and last but not least, The Empiricals surf it up at Irene's.
