This is not the Medway sound

Dan Melchior is another one of my personal favourite musicians. He's worked with Billy Childish and Holly Golightly, but has never been comfortable lumped into that scene. Thus his "Garage Obituary" single and "This Is Not The Medway Sound " LP.
I've seen him play twice in Ottawa, both times without his usual guitarist Bruno-Meyrick Jones, since apparently BMJ is persona non grata in Canada.
Here's a picture of Melchior (and drummer Greg Anderson) from his Bluesfest 2003 show. None of my pictures of Melchior made it onto the Birdman Sound website, so this photo is presented here on-line for the very first time. How thrilling.
