How Fortunate

The Dead City Rebels were Ottawa's answer to The New Bomb Turks - and a damn fine one. They have a pair of records out on High Society International (one posthumous), and there's a few split singles out there too.
Three former Rebels (four, if you count saxophonist Chris Anderson) are in The Fortunate Sons: Nate Hurlow (Glads, Golden Famile) plays guitar, J.P. Sadek (Longtimers) plays drums and Austen Morrow sings and plays guitar, with the bass position being taken up by Ben Hurlow. And oh how they rock! The have an excellent album, Burned Again", out on HSI, produced by Jeff Meier (Rocket 455, The Shanks).

Here's Nate, and the oh-so-saxy Chris.

Ben and Austen ... I don't think he ever takes that leather jacket off (wait, I remember him in shirt sleeves at a Frames New Year's party - but maybe I imagined it?).

Hard to get a good picture of drummers. Particularly J.P. - always seems to be a stick or a stand in the way.

Here they are all together, demonstrated the patented "Sons Stance", for which they were roundly teased by Scotty Karate of Space Elevator.

And here's Austen again, with a Flying V - and flying panties.

They seem to play about once every six months (and that's an average). Too bad, because they're great.
