Sweet thing

The night was getting on and it was time for Miss Mark to really step into the spotlight. She's an energetic singer with a ribald sense of humour. There was a fine version of Fuzzy Slippers, Terrible Hostess and sundry other tunes. Steve Tautone dueted with Mark on North Country Fair while Slo Tom accompanied her on Don't Come Over Baby - both tunes from her new album of duets (which I reviewed for pennyblackmusic, BTW). The John Henrys did a fine job backing her - and as I mentioned earlier, Doug Gouthro had some fine solos (as did Rey, come to that).

Carolyn takes the stage (and from the other side).

Of course, she had some backup singers for her first number ...

Another view of those singers (and Mark and Darryl Quinlan).

Here's Rey and Slo' Tom, with the essentials of percussion and inebriation.

Better get in another picture of the once-again sadly underphotographed Geoff Ward (and a great big "O").

Carolyn, Darryl and Doug ... (and a bit more Carolyn).

She finished off with You're Not a Whore If No One Pays before heading into an encore where sundry folks were dragged onstage (including a somewhat abashed looking Steve Fai of Black Boot Trio).

Big finish!

A very entertaining night ... The John Henrys certainly earned their bed-rest. (Found some extra pictures ... here and here)
