Marked men

The John Henrys put in a long night last Saturday, playing a set of their own tunes, then backing both Slo' Tom and Carolyn Mark. This means I got a whole lot of John Henry pictures. The band were sporting some flashy duds for their own set - decorated cowboy shirts all round! - and as usual were darn sharp musically to (cowboy) boot.

Steve Tautone slings some guitar (and also sings and plays some more guitar and hit the keys later on).

Doug Gouthro was in top form in a number of solos throughout the evening (more).

Geoffrey Ward on drums.

Rey Sabatin was definitely looking snazzy (as well as being his usual animated self and playing some smokin' mandolin).

Darryl Quinlan was making up for his less flashy shirt with the evening's best belt buckle (and a cool new lefty Rickenbacker bass).

Smoky Henrys action!

Even more smoky Henrys action!

And yes there is an "all together" shot ... so click here already. Their next show is with The Spades at Mavericks Dec. 10.

Maybe check out www.jahworks.com now here's a bunch of over achievers. They've sold over 100K cd's independently---I think they've played Canada a few times. may Ottawa needs a dose of reggae to warm the weather up there.....peace. PinF
