Remembrance Day
My great uncle (and namesake) Lt. Christian Creswell Carver was serving in the A/83rd Brigade, Royal Field Artillery when he was killed in action near Zillibeke Lake, in the Ypres salient, July 23, 1917. His grave is in Lijssenthoek Cemetery near Poperinge, Belgium. He had turned 20 just a few days before.
