Dem bones

Back when Early Man came to town (A year ago, egad how the time flies!), I was checking out the T-shirts in and around the band and recall thinking, "Hmm, these dudes dig Skeletonwitch"  - no doubt a consequence of being on tour with them. Happy day, a few months later I hear they're coming to town. Not that there was a chance in hell I'd miss headliners High on Fire, but I made sure to get to the Capital Music Hall in time to catch the opening set from Athens, Ohio's mighty metal warriors.

Get out your devil's horns for singer Chance Garnette! (That's his bother, guitarist Nate, being obscured by one upraised mano cornudo.)

Skeletonwitch at Capital Music Hall

Hair-shaking action with bassist Evan Linger, guitarist Scott Hedrick and drummer Derrick Nau!

More Chance! Likely telling the crowd to drink more beer, smoke more pot, or eat more pussy!

Monitors are still mostly for standing on.

Cool show. It'd be fun to see them headline someplace like Mavericks, should they ever return.
