Mass luting

Bassekou Kouyate grew up with the ngoni - his father was a player - and he toured with Toumani Diabate and played on several of his albums. He's had some success as a performer in his own right, getting rave reviews for his two albums, Segu Blue and I Speak Fula as well. His set in the Black Sheep Tent was certainly entrancing.

Here he is during one of the group's more laidback numbers.

Bassekou's wife Amy Sacko also sings. If I have my ngonis right, Bassekou's brothers Barou and Fousseyni are at left and right respectively, while Moussa Bah is playing the bass ngoni

Amy shakes it. That's percussionist Moussa Sissoko at right.

The whole lot, including calebasse player Alou Coulibaly at back.

And finally Sissoko busting out yet another Tamani raveup.

A super show, although once again the whole tent concept is not working for me at all. On the upside, I'm liking the Fujifilm's low-light performance.
