Four's a crowd

For the final show of Thursday I went off to see Crowded House. The New Zealand poppers seem to be taking this reunion business very seriously, and have even released two well-regarded post split albums, Time On Earth and Intriguer (a new covers album is also apparently on the go for late 2010). They've also been touring, and so here they are headlining a big festival ... but first a few words from one of our sponsors.

The Tories got the shoutouts the previous day, so here's the provincial Liberals' Yasser Naqvi rocking the house on behalf of government stimulus spending.

And here's a well lit Neil Finn and bassist Nick Seymour.

I think that's Mark Hart back there ...

Then it was off to Nine for some noisy punk.
  • Show reminder: There are a couple of big names in town, with OK Go at the Capital and Crash YTest Dummies at the First Baptist Church, but the real rock is probably going down at places like The dominion, with Human Eye. You can catch The Randypeters reunion at Irene's; The Grass are performing at Zaphod Beeblebrox; blues guitarist Jack De Keyzer is at The Rainbow with Don Amero; The Elizabeth Shepherd Trio performs at the Mercury Lounge; Marco Benevento and Dave Lauzon play the Elmdale House. The Cody Allen Band and The Sidewalks  roll into The Avant-Garde.
