Feudal hops

So, we've had toy guitar punk, folk punk and hard rock, what's next on the agenda for March 26 at The Rainbow? Turns out to be some Celtic punk courtesy of Ottawans The Beer Barons. Or that should be two-thirds of The Beer Barons since both mandolin player Fresh Shave Dave and vocalist Skinderella couldn't make it.

Violinatress and Bearded Baron.

More Violinatress and a fuzzy Sarah.

Violinatress is certainly giving the horsehair some grief.

Faceoff action and a distant Chronic Baron on drums.

Moshing and falling-over action from the crowd.

Fisheye really isn't the best for The Rainbow; this shot turned out okay though.

Dreadnaught Nick popped over from his show at Cafe DeKcuf to sing some Irish drinking tunes.

Big finish!

The Beer Barons at The Rainbow

An entertaining act; I'll have to catch them some time when the whole band's on stage. Their next show is April 24 at the Vanier Legion Hall with Frank James and The Mutes. They also have a show June 20 at the Rainbow, and once again Kill City is on the bill, along with Farler’s Fury and Rebel Spell.
  • Show reminder: Cousins return to the capital with a show at Cafe DeKcuf with Jon McKiel, Duzheknew and Chris Bush (of Get A Life Losers!).Wilst, Irish Mythen and Jens Jeppeson are at The Rainbow.
