Under pressure

Most of Pressure Make Diamonds came from Whitby; like a few other acts of their generation they're in town in search of both higher education and higher volume. They seem to mix a few different genres; I thought I detected emo punk, extreme metal and even a ska breakdown in their sound. I can't say the blend worked all that well for me, but they had plenty of fans on hand who I'm sure would b happy to disagree.

Guitarist Mike Davies.

Okay, so Zaphod's isn't a great venue for fisheye-lens photos ... this is vocalist Taylor Spears.

Altogether, not my best batch of photos. Their next show is at mavericks March 25.
  • Show reminder: Harvey Cartel, The Gospel, In Antarctica and Monic play Zaphod's free showcase. Vince Andrushko performs at Cafe Umi; The Me Monster is at the Rainbow.
