Great snakes

Belgium's SerpentCult were the next band on stage. They're one of the rare female-fronted doom metal bands - actually I can't think of any other ones - but that wouldn't be worth anything if it weren't for their ability to turn out a solid down-tuned riff and generally rock out. Since they can, everything's all right.

Singer Michelle Nocan, who is under that waving hair, apparently come from a band named Eveline, of which I know naught.

Frederic Caure, also hidden under hair, plays guitar, and like everyone else in the band was formerly in Thee Plague of Gentlemen

Steven Van Cauwenbergh on bass. He's also played bass on some Leng T'che stuff. You can sort of make out drummer Frederik Cosemans as well.

Michelle's a very good frontwoman - I like her clean vocal style as well.

No shows to report, unless you happen to be somewhere in the Low Countries - and even then there's not a lot since they're busy working on their next album, Raised By Wolves, in a Flanders farmhouse.
  • Show reminder: Ace Kinkaid and Bad Doctor provide an aural backdrop for some artists at Zaphod Beeblebrox as apart of the Basement Artists series. Rachel MacGregor is at the Rainbow; it's songwriter circle time at the Elmdale again with Little Birdie, Bruce Enloe, Ray Harris and David Kraai.
