Back to the underground

Nu Sensae and White Lung have left their Vancouver redoubt to tour North America (they even released a snappy tour-only 7-inch to commemorate the event) and sure enough landed in Ottawa about six weeks in. Both outfits are in top form, taking the hardcore recipe and mixing in a few things of their own. First band on last night's bill at Babylon was Pregnancy Scares, but I only caught the last five seconds of their set - I couldn't even get my camera out of the bag in time.

Nu Sensae was up next, and the bass and drum duo really tore it up with their mighty thud. The pair really put out a monstrous primeval noise ... next time they're in town they should share a bill with Big Dick. Here's Andrea Lukic ...

I saw White Lung when they came through town in June 2010 for a show at Nine back in the Rock'N'Roll Pizza Party era. They were even sharper this time around. Singer Mish Way opened things up by noting that this was the first show on the tour that she threw up before playing ... I couldn't tell the difference.
