In the rigging

All right, I think enough time has passed between opening act Shannon Rose and The Thorn(s) and headliners The Jimmyriggers that I should finally post a few snaps of the latter. They played an entertaining set of melodic country rock; they also work a stage pretty well.

Not quite as psychedelic as pictured, but newly acquired guitarist Kevin Mocquin does his part. Bassist David Pearce is also the band's banterer-in-chief.

Andre Kirchhoff just needs a paddlesteamer to go with his duds.

And this is goodnight.

The Jimmyriggers at The Rainbow

Very capable, considering there was a seasonal bug going about. They'll be off to the East Coast starting March 24.
  • Show reminder: Some big acts in town tonight not that Down With Webster, Sweet Thing and 2AM Club at the Bronson Centre Theatre is quite to my taste ... there's also an evening of Polaris Prize winning music at the Capital Music Hall with Plants And Animals and Karkwa. Necronomicon, Darkness Rites, Immersed plunge Zaphod Beeblebrox into Stygian gloom. The mighty Zoobombs will be performing at the Dominion with Holger; Raccoon Bandit, Andy Swan and The North Lakes entertain at Raw Sugar.
