Kalle of the wild

Kalle Mattson made the trek from Sault Ste. Marie last year in the pursuit of higher education. That applies to both the band's founder and namesake, Kalle Mattson Wainio, and its members, all of who are enrolled at college or university here. Their many admirers have noted a big Wilco influence, and I'd say more narrowly that it's late Wilco when the aural oddities started to overwhelm the country folk side.

Here's phaser-lovin' guitarist Rory Lewis and mainman Kalle.

I'm not sure Rory has enough pedals.

They have a show April 17, followed by some touring in Ontario, Quebec and out east in May.
  • Show reminder: Alligator Baby performs at Rainbow - the name is a reference to the book, not the record label, so don't expect the blues, despite the venue. Chris Rayburn Band and The Old Crowns play the Elmdale House.
