Gentlemen prefer blondes

Gentleman Reg, guitarist Johnny James, bassist Simon Osborne and drummer Greg Millson. Reg's suave and sophisticated pop makes me think of Belle and Sebastien, Young and Sexy and Donovan. At least his more "luscious" side does; he seems to be rocking things up a little more. I was somewhat bugged by the number of people who gave the floor in front of the stage a wide berth. In fact for much of the show I think I was the only person within a good 15 feet of the stage, which explains why Reg said hi to me. Anyway, they put in a cool set opening for Clark the Band.

The Gentleman himself.

James; not above doing the introductory riff from Led Zeppelin's Immigrant Song.

Greg Millson, pretty in pink.

Simon sang on the first, more poppy tune before strapping on the bass.

Pop action!

Some one-foot percussion. Dig the lamp.

More Reg and Simon.

Like Belle and Sebastien, it's twee with spine.
  • Show reminder: More Earthunder madness as Slow Jams; Dead Bush; Bug Sized Mind; Animental; Bobbiclothes; Lance Romance; Crude Hill; Max Eisenberg; Yomul Yuk; Mouthus; Lightning Bolt kick out whatever it is they kick out. You'll probably need a ticket if you want to see hot buzz band Clap Your Hands Say Yeah with Ottawa's own sons of rhythm The Hi Lo Trons. Can't hurt to try if you don't.
