The sound abounds

Krautrock legend Damo Suzuki has certainly been keeping busy since Can went away. He seems to be on a non-stop global tour, recruiting fans and pals to act as his "sound carriers" at venues around the globe. I saw him put on a pair of great shows at the Avant-Garde Bar in 2006 and 2007, and he's been through town a couple of times since, including a set with The Band Whose Name Is A Symbol - a show laid down on vinyl that you can obtain at Birdman Sound while copies remain. TBWNIAS is probably the best-suited local band to back Suzuki, and no surprise they were on hand for his return at Pressed on Thursday night.

And they're off!

Nat handles the bass (at least for the first while, there was some instrument switching later on with Bill).

The show wasn't even half done; Damo played two sets and was still going strong at 11 p.m. while TBWNIAS were packing up around him.
