Ecstacy and e-tron

Arrington de Dionyso is quite a character. Part of K Records experimental troupe Old Time Relijun, he's also whipped up a host of pancultural oddities, his latest being Malaikat dan Singa. Indonesian music, jazzpunk, Tuvan throat-singing and krautrock all go into the blender. He's on a North American through June right now, and landed at Pressed Friday night. He's not an easy performer to find an opener for, but Fet. Nat. filled the role quite well.

They gave a particularly twitchy performance.

De Dionyso was playing a very well-travelled single pickup guitar, sometimes with one hand, along with his trademark bass clarinet.

His drummer kept an extraordinarily steady pace.

A decent turnout too, considering the weather was getting mighty wet as it was time to head out.
