Shake the sheets

I've been admiring The John Henrys in action almost since I started taking photographs ... I seem to recall that the first time I saw them was was back when at Zaphod Beeblebrox. I saw them a bunch of times, then frontman Rey headed off to Toronto for a while and a couple of years passed where I managed to evade seeing them live (except for a stint backing Slo' Tom at Westfest, and that was still a good while ago). Anyway, here they are touring across the country behind album No. 3, White Linen, with the same lineup and still sounding mighty sharp.

Rey and Darryl Quinlan.

And that's it because truth be told I ran off to Ritual for Bored To Death. As for the John Henrys, they're still out west with May dates in Alberta and B.C.
  • Show reminder: Chris McComb, The Panama and Charles Downey & The Danger Zone are at Zaphod's; Mushkat and The Alamo, Mica Hamerson and Mike Aube play The Rainbow.
