The boy in the band

Steve Adamyk has been a busy guy on the Ottawa music scene for many years. He first came to my attention as the guitarist for Million Dollar Marxists, but even back then he had a side-project under his own name. In the years since the Marxists stopped being much of a going concern he's done the occasional gig with Uranium Comeback and The Sedatives. Now the Steve Adamyk Band seems to be heating things up, releasing a couple of swell power-pop singles. Speaking of The Sedatives, bandmate Emmanuel Sayer officially joined on second axe, bringing the Sedative quotient up to 75%. The other 25% is Davey Quesnelle, since apparently he's required by bylaw to be a member of every local band. This show was a benefit for Standard Issue, the local magazine for freaks, weirdos and punks. I arrived too late from Lullabye Arkestra to see openers Big Dick and Pregnancy Scares, but there were some tunes being played by the other 25% of The Sedatives, Ian Manhire.

Ian only one spindle size adapter, so he was just reaching in to snap up the one on the record being played without disturbing it  - which he did.
