Get the party started

Back to Mavericks, May 5, for The Birthday Boys. They are often written up as "featuring members of Money Money." While true, it should be noted that the act's founding duo are singer-guitarists Graeme Kennedy and Jordan Mack. The Money Money contingent is made up of bassist Jeremy Boyd and drummer Matt Paige, who give the band a driving sound. Apparently the band formed with the intent of playing outlaw country, and also cites P.J. Harvey and Nick Cave as influences. They've certainly left the country far behind, though I could here some of both Harvey and Cave ... still, the band they really made me think of was Spoon.

I got their album and it's quite good, but their live show has really gone a leap and a bound beyond it.
