Brothers, wires, daggers

Highly regarded Nashville rock duo JEFF The Brotherhood have been to town twice before, and I managed to miss them on both occasions. This time around I booked the day off so I could see them, and not incidentally The White Wires last show for a few months and Dagger Eyes.

First up, Dagger Eyes, who were sounding even tighter than usual with the minimalist brutepunk.

As mentioned, The White Wires are taking a break from the stage to work on WWIII,  their next (and third) album. They showed off a few more tunes, covered The Ramones' I Need Your Love and finished things off with an audience demand for Ha Ha Holiday. Also, there was smoke.

Then JEFF The Brotherhood (a.k.a. the brothers Jake and Jamin Orrall, on guitar and drums respectively. They may sound silly, but something about Jake's three-string guitar playing made me think of Weezer. They too, brought the smoke. Jaymin's in there somewhere ...

A hot set, though I wish there was less annoying moshing.
