Bluesfest: Leon Russell

Sunday came to an end with a superb set from Leon Russell, my favourite of the festival as a whole. Russell strikes me as a performer whose happy not to be in the spotlight. As a result his band are ready and able to shine, where a more egotistical man might have demanded the lion's share of the limelight.

As I said earlier, my point-and-shoot was not really up to demands of low light, so that's it. He's out in Western Canada right now (playing in Nelson, B.C., where I was recently on vacation, on Monday in fact) before heading back stateside.
