Motor along

There were many tributes in the wake of the death of Lemmy Kilmister, Motorhead mainstay and all-around rock deity (I did one myself, with Bizarre Bazzar host Regis Loreau on CKCU). Glorious Moonrockets mainman Chris Landry conceived of a night dedicated to a night of Motormusic, and a bunch of musicians contributed their chops to a night at the House of Targ. Wildebai were first on deck, here's some singalong action with Coupe DeVille (of Black Stone Hearts, Rat Tales, etc.). I only managed to snap a few decent photos because I forgot to adjust my camera's ISO for their set. They covered Stone Deaf Forever and Riding With The Driver (among others).

Mötorvypyr - a.k.a.some folks from metal combo Vic Vypyr - contributed Shoot You In The Back and a couple more. Here's Raffaele doing some singing and guitaring.

The show was also a benefit for the Ottawa Integrative Cancer Center; Johnny Nash of Neck gave a brief rundown of the good work they do between sets.

Slumlord has done a Motorhead tribute set before, so they were well prepared with a half-dozen tunes, including a great version of Please Don't Touch. Here's T.J.!

In Heat - I mean, Mötorheat - were on next, with Lexxi using the microphone in the Lemmy-approved way. Their set included No Class and The Chase Is Better Than The Catch.

You know someone had to cover Ace of Spades, and since it is "Motorhead's only karaoke tune," the task fell to Lemmy Royale.

Mötormouth - aka the Glorious Moonrockets - scorched their way through their set of some of Motorhead's toughest tuneds: Iron Fist, Hammer and Bomber. Here's some Satanic prepwork!
