Second edition

Last week I headed to Ottawa South for a double-header. First up, a dose of psych and pop from Ottawa's Sam Pippa (of Organ Eyes and Blue Angel) performing as Pipahauntas. Here she is, adjusting some recalcitrant electronics between the stacks at Black Squirrel Books.



Between the shelves action (as you might have guessed, I got there too late for a good photo of the first act - there was quite a large crowd).

The set was unexpectedly forshortened due to technical difficulties.



On to Anamai, the not-quite-solo project of Annabelle May of HSY. She tones down the buzz, squall and yelp of that band to something a bit closer to Blakavar or Mazzy Star. Here she is, along with a gent I believe is her producer David Psutka (a.k.a. Egyptrix).
