Reverb in the basement

I don't normally go out to shows on Wednesday, since I have pottery that night and classes the following morning, but Byward water problems, Algonquin's open house and an unfortunate head cold cleared out my night and morning schedule, so off to 614 Gladstone it was for a viewing of Organ Eyes and Seattle's Night Beats.

And they're off!

Percussive action with Dan Pasowisty!

Actually that was a bit of a false start since someone kicked a power bar. Nor worries, since it turned out Cam wanted to start the song over so he put on his Oilers' jersey.

On to Night Beats. Though their home base may be Seattle, they're definitely drinking from the well of Texas psych, a la 13th Floor Elevators (to whom they are frequently compared). They like their reverb!

Tarek Wegner rocks the spots!

Frontman Danny Lee Blackwater hails from Texas (as does drummer James Traeger).
