Heads and hounds

In the middle of September I hobbled over to the House of Targ for some Peterborough rock action. Punk trio Cross Dog have a new album out (on Ottawa's Uncle D records, of course), and were touring with fellow Peterboroughlians Mokomokai. First up, though, was local doom combo Black Galaxy (who will also be at Targ this Saturday, opening for The Well). Here's Jimmy on vocals!

The hot and the heavy

Wednesday I headed over to House of Targ to check out some metal action. Mokomokai was headlining, Villain, a classic metal style band from Toronto was on the bill, and it was also a chance to check out In Heat's new lineup. First, here's Greg. He is not new.

Brent and grimacing Tony aren't new either, but singer Surge is!

More Surge! I'd say the band is heading in a more Guns'n'Roses direction. They plan to write up a bunch of new material, so there might not be many shows in the near future.

Mokomokai are Targ regulars - they showed up for their third anniversary celebration back in April - and put on a fine show as usual. Here's J.J. and bassist Jeremy!
