Gotta have shakes

Although Joan Jett would have been a nice way to end the night, there were other doings a-fixin' over at Ritual, with Bored to Death featuring the release party for Mother's Children's new LP, That's Who! which is currently receiving praise both near and far. Fortunately they waited for other concert-goers to show up so just about everyone who wanted to caught the whole set.

First, I shot a photo of a freshly wed DJ Ian Manhire, showing off his wedding ring.

Having completed their tour with Paul Collins' Beat in August, their next show is with punkers Germ Attak, Unruled and Asile at the Avant-Garde September 18. Speaking of Bored to Death, The Suppositories have come to their end (so to speak) and play their last show their tonight along with Genital Hospital.

Nuts to that

The Walnut Kids finished the night off with some rough'n'ready rock'n'roll sounds. These guys say they like Wreckless Sic, The Buzzcocks (who they covered), Kids Real and otherwise and similar Basher-loving, Stiff-signed 1970s rockers. They also dig The Animals and the less-polished end of 1960s rock.

Yet more introduction action from Ian, who is going the full Walnut with both T-shirt and button. Bassist Olli is at right.
