Big bird

I like Black Sabbath, The Melvins and Neurosis. No big surprise that I'm quite fond of Pelican as well. The instrumental four-piece kick up a great racket (Sunn amp? Check!) and sounded first rate. They weren't quite as active on stage as Mono, but that's slight criticism of a dynamic act.

I like the way the lights turned out on this picture of Laurent Lebec.

Trevor de Brauw and banging heads.

One half of a family-oriented rhythm section, Bryan Herweg.

Big brother Larry Herweg on drums.

Creationist action!

Pedal action!

Avian action!

They skipped out on encore, perhaps sensing that apart from their horns-throwing, headbanging devotees, the audience was more in Mono's corner. Regardless, a fine show.
