A week ago I headed downtown for two stories of heavy music at Cafe DeKcuf and Mavericks. Brooklyn crushers Tombs were in town for a show at the upstairs venue, and with Flying Fortress headlining downstairs, why not go to both? Things began at Cafe DeKcuf with Gatineau blackened doomsters Norilsk. Here's some grimacing guitar action!

Downstairs I went to catch some Mountain Dust (last seen at Targ on a bill with Biblical). They still have a heavy 1970s vibe going on. Here's Patrick working the steel.

Finally, Tombs played a killer set. They brought the smoke and a couple of blue lights for illumination, so things weren't so great for photography, but it sure sounded good. Here's frontman Mike!

And so on!
Rhythm section action with Ben and a barely visible Charlie!
Singalong action!
More guitar!
A loud time was had by all.
