I seem to remember a time when loud cowpunk style bands were all around - now Big Jeezus Truck are the only local combo holding aloft the torch kept alit by the Supersuckers. Strangely enough for such a longstanding Ottawa band, I've caught them twice - once at Barrymore's a good five or six years ago, and this show at the beginning of December ...
Tom E. Hawk takes a stand on one of the monitors.
And here's Slim Reaper, Capt. Killdrums and Matt Spag.
Good colour-coordination from Slim.
Tom frets!
And kicks!
The whole lot!
Killdrums is under there somewhere.
Spag copes with some strap failure.
All fixed and he's feeling much better.
Tom's not truly happy unless he's standing on a monitor.
Guitar raising action!
Slim sings!
I believe there was also some harmonica.
The Captain gets his daily dose of fibre.
Just like the tattoo says.
Killdrums takes a stand.
Now I remember why I haven't seen Big Jeezus Truck more often ... that @#$! smoke machine.
Back-to-back action!
Smokey bass-lifting action!
The even smokier end!
No doubt we'll hear more as the winter live show doldrums subside.
