Heavy music comes in many forms, and if you wanted something close to
the full spectrum, the House of Targ was the place to be: The
NWOBHM-to-the-max of Thunderkok, classical moves from Devah Quartet and
whatever Muffler Crunch is. This was the first show for Thunderkok, and
they went the extra mile with the stage props and some over-the-top
stage posturing. Here's some guitar action with David!
Headbanging action with Garrett!
Flying V action!
Iron Maiden has Eddy, so I guess Thunderkok has ... Dicky?
Garrett sings!
Hamish sings!
Smoke-spewing action!
Bass action with Travis!
Percussive action with Kelso!
Back-to-back action!
Travis sings!
Bloody finale action!
Err?
Muffler
Crunch are put on a fantastic show, and this was one of their best.
They're playing at the Dominion at the end of the month (October 28, to
be precise) with Boom Creek and Slim'N'Popular and also have a new EP on
the way. Here's Luc!
Angie hits!
More Luc!
Angie sings!
Backlit action!
The shouty bit!
The whole lot!
Luc runs about!
And so on!
Blueish action!
Luc sings!
Toronto's
Devah Quartet finished the evening with a diverse set showing off their
classic and metal influences; not everything was what you would call
"heavy" - as they said themselves, sometimes you have to switch things
up a bit. Here's violinist Emily!
Five-string action with Sharon!
Extra Emily!
Sharon jumps about!
Cello action with Liza! That's Moira on another five-string.
Baby bump action with Moira!
More Liza!
Stringed action!
Percussive action!
Bendy action with Sharon!
Liza sings!
A very diverse evening.
