I missed the Ottawa Explosion's afternoon offerings on Saturday, but at least managed to get out into the heat to catch Ottawa' Creep Wave play the first set of the evening. Here's Derek and Brittany!

New York's Big Eyes were another great Explosion discovery for me; Kait Eldridge and company put out a super set of classic-rock influenced pop-punk, including a cover of The Undertones' You've Got My Number.

Guitar action with Paul!
Eyeful action!

More guitar!
Pretty Pretty is another Ohio band; it shares a couple of members with Vacation (kind of an Ottawa Explosion trend, member-sharing bands). It's fronted by Vacation bassist Evan on guitar, Vacation guitarist Jerri on drums, and Larry Teevee on bass. Here's Evan!
Larry handles the low end.
Evan sings.
Larrry sings!
Jerri hits!

The last outside show of Saturday featured New Jersey's Nightbirds; one of my photos from their 2012 Ottawa explosion set at Mavericks made it onto their Born To Die In Suburbia album. Here's P.J. working the feedback during their instrumental intro.
Darick hits!
Brian shouts!
Bass action with Joe!

Extra P.J.!
More Darick and Brian!

Bonus Brian!
Even more Darick!
Then it was time to head indoors for some Wet Brain and more!
