Last month saw the return of The Sedatives to the stage - no surprise that the combo was back in action on Thursday for Day 2 of the Ottawa Explosion. The fest has expanded a bit beyond it's garage-rocking roots in the Gaga Weekend (Exhibit A: Tonight's lineup at St. Alban's with Pith, Pippa, Phedre, Whoop-Szo and Boyhood), but for those hankering for the old days Club SAW was definitely the place to be. Here's Steve, Ian and Dave!
Dave hits!
Bass action with Steve!
Guitar action with Emmanuel!
Reflective action!
Steve sings!
A shouty bit!
Singalong action!
Extra Dave!
Feedback action!
The whole lot!
New England rockers were on next with some roughneck jangle; here's guitarist Nick, bassist Mackenzie, singer Shane and drummer Dan! They're also playing tonight at Vertigo Records.
More Mackenzie!
Barre chord action with Nick!
Closeup action!
Dan hits!
Extra Shane and Mackenzie!
As evening encroached Steve Adamyk returned to the stage with his band. Pat Johnson (The Acorn and many more) has replaced Dave on drums since Dave's now Down Under.
Guitar action with Max!
Steve sings!
Pat hits!
Shouty Seb action!
Extra Pat!
More guitar!
And so on!
Radioactivity put a bow on the outside sets with an ace set. Here's bassist Orville!
Guitar action with Jeff!
Gregory hits!
Rhythm section action!
Guitar action with Daniel!
Jeff sings!
More Daniel!
More Gregory!
Guitar action!
The crowd goes wild!
Then it was time to hit up the indoors stage.
