Last Friday I toddled over to the House of Targ to catch yet another Peterborough band (they're everywhere these days), Mokomokai. They've expanded to a fourpiece since I saw them last. First up, World War 4. Here's Blake being Blakeian.
This was a rare occasion with Orca on guitar (and of course Michael on bass).
Extra Orca!
More Michael!
Expressive action!
Josh sings!
Leigh sings!
Extra Leigh!
Warring action!
And so on!
While it's no Peterborough, Pembroke does have some musical combos going for it, among them crushing doom duo Flying Fortress! Here's Brandon!
Steel Rider has recovered form his injury and is back behind the kit where he belongs!
More Brandon!
Extra Steel!
And so on!
Fisheyed action!
Brandon entirely!
Put your drummer where I can actually get a decent photo, and you end up with a lot of drummer photos ....
Brandon is under there somewhere.
Mokomokai played a great set; I think John is sounding better than ever.
New guitarist Bobby Deuce definitely adds some lead punch as well. He's played in Iron Giant, but not for any of the shows I shot of the Moncton combo.
Head-banging action with Jeremy!
John sings!
Jeremy sings!
Extra Bobby!
This is also the first show by them I've seen with J.J. (formerly of Skull Fist) on drums!
Grimacing action!
More J.J.!
More John!
Even more Jeremy!
Guitar action!
Another killer night.
