Luneta is a Bronson Ave. cafe and bistro that has taken to hosting punk, metal and rock shows. I hadn't had a chance to check it out before Saturday night, so yesterday I wandered over to take a look and a hear.
First band of the evening was Neck, who I saw just a couple of weeks ago doing some fundraising for CKCU at the Clocktower. That wasn't too many posts ago, just let's just jump in. "It's so embarrassing - we all wore the same shirt."
Kevin hits!
More Johnny!
Jeff frets!
Rhythm section action!
Closeup action!
Johnny sings!
On to Guelph's Nasties and Toronto's School Damage after the jump ...
The Nasties are usually described as "old school" punk - hard to argue. They threw a few covers into a mix of originals, including The Misfits ever-timely Bullet, Black Flag's Rise Above and some Minor Threat tune.
Blurry action with Mr. Friendly and guitarist Dub Ya!
More Dub!
Michael C. Christ hits!
Gym Hair is somewhere under that hat.
Gripping action!
Even more Dub!
School damage finished things of with some rough-edged pop punk. Here's guitarist Brad, bassist Jon and drummer Curtis.
Brad sings!
Hair-tossing action!
Singalong action!
Bendy action!
Brad sings!
Curtis hits!
The crow goes wild!
Everything screeched to a halt so that those inclined could head over to the nearby Fun Boy Club House for their not-an-eviction party.
