Bluesfest: Oli Brown

Back to Bluesfest for Wednesday's offerings. For whatever reason I stuck around for the various acts I saw, starting with The Oli Brown Band. Oli Brown, the youthful bloke who heads up the British combo, obviously draws heavily on the tradition of British blues circa 1965-1975. I would say I could imagine he's the kind of musician who would show up touring with John Mayall, if I hadn't already heard he's doing so right now. So I'll say I can imagine him touring with The Groundhogs or Peter Green instead.

Oli and Co. have had a very good year, picking up some British Blues awards, endorsing this and that, and of course getting that John Mayall tour, which still has three days to go. After a few December dates in Holland, he'll be heading around the U.K. again, this time accompanied by Dana Fuchs.
  • Show reminder: Rachel MacGregor and Friends perform at The Rainbow.
