"Please don't kill one another."
Having been appropriately warned by Johnny from the Bear, who was doing the introductions, the audience could now appreciate the Cancer Bat experience with only some light maiming being the result. I'm going to start with this blurry photo of jumping bassist Jaye R. Schwarzer, because that's how most of my photos turned out: Blurry Cancer Bats members leaping out of the frame.
A rare photo of singer Liam Cormier standing kind of still.
Headbanging action!
Scott Middleton frets!
I think that's some audience headbanging in the lower left of the frame. Or maybe my thumb. The drummer is Mike Peters.
Cancerous action!
Batty action!
Liam stands on something!
Jaye sings!
More headbanging!
The crowd goes wild!
Scott's under there somewhere.
Gesticulating action!
Good work, mosh pit!
More Mike!
The end! Or at least, the point where I rushed off to listen to some zydeco.
The batty bunch will be back in town December 8 for a show as Bat Sabbath playing, yes, a Black Sabbath set at Mavericks.
- Show reminder: Michou, Current Swell and The Strain perform at Mavericks; Signs of Chaos and My Shadow rock The Rainbow; the intriguingly named Golden Bulldozer plays the Elmdale with Spare Change.
