If you've been idly following the affairs of online image hosting providers, you might have happened across such headlines as "Photobucket accused of blackmail after quietly requiring users to pay $400 a year to hotlink" (The Verge) and "Amazon and eBay images broken by Photobucket's 'ransom demand'," or perhaps you're a Photobucket user who has suddenly discovered their online images have been rendered unviewable.
Alas, National Capital Rock is among the affected, and most of the photos from July 2009 and earlier are now off-line. I'm starting the laborious process of transferring stuff to Flickr; I hope to find the time to update those earlier posts, but it's going to take a while.
