Every year Slo' Tom and his cohorts in Manpower host a Season's Beatings party so they can further abuse their long-suffering audience. The 2014 edition stretched over two days, but I missed the first, more country-flavoured outing, instead checking out the Sunday lineup of heavy metal and bad comedy.
First up, equal opportunity offender The Unknown Wrestler served up so low-brow humour.
Ding!
Next up was the debut performance of Metal Party, featuring a local supergroup lineup, fronted by Felix, son of Yogi.
Guitar action with Blake and Yogi!
Rhythm section action with Eric and Leigh!
Invisible orange action!
Leigh hits!
Yogi doesn't get much of a break, because it was time for some BlackBread. Ian handles the bass duities.
Adam hits!
Megan was sounding particularly good.
More Yogi!
Extra Ian!
More Megan!
Mother's Children also played a tight set.
Michael frets!
Singalong action!
Rhythm section action with Seiji and Tim!
More Tim!
Extra Seiji!
Childish action!
Michael sings!
Then it was time for the annual "terrible film" - that is, an SBTV broadcast with Anderson and Anderson (or Blake and Remi).
Manpower wrapped the evening up with some rocking tunes, plus a cover of Ratt's Round And Round.
Video action!
Brainy action!
Dave hits!
Guitar-lifting action!
Tom works the floor!
Extra Dave!
Blake sings!
Merry Christmas, all!
