Anothr night, another show at Pressed. This time, instead of high-proof country from Slo' Tom, A packed house was treated to Belleville rockers Grime Kings and East Coast sensation Cousins. Last time I caught Aaron Mangle was at 443 Kent in September of 2009 - it seems like a lot longer! This time around her was touring as a duo with Leigh Dotey on drums. Both bands put on great sets.
Them Kings!

I think the big crowd helped steam up the windows ...

Mangle really brought the noise for this set. Something about his voice and the stripped down sound makes me think a bit of early Pink Mountaintops, though his stuff is a lot more "East Coast indie" than West Coast psychedelic. His Out On Town was one of my favourite records of 2009, and I'm digging his 2012 offering, The Palm At The End Of The Mind quite a bit as well. Here's some singalong action!

Leigh hits!

There was some serious moshing going on by the time the show ended.
