Last Saturday I headed over to Daily Grind to see some of the heavy sounds that the Grind draws. When I arrived I was a little surprised to see folks downing their evening brews and all the chairs and tables in their usual place. Where had the show vanished too? Upstairs of course, to an even smaller room in the back.
Black Oak Decline started up the show - no bass problems this time around! Here's Mike, Tony and Neil.
Mike sings!
More Neil!
Tony hits!
Extra Mike!
Bonus Neil!
The whole lot!
Extra Tony!
The compact end!
Winnipeg's Dead Ranch were up next, with a sound somewhere in the range of Bison B.C. and High on Fire.
Bass action with Steve Anderson!
Guitar action with Chad Alsop!
Vocal action with Andre Cornejo!
Cymbal action with Ryley Devine!
Singalong action!
Extra Chad!
Bonus Ryley!
The shouty bit!
Headbanging action!
The end!
Biipiigwan finished things off with a brief but ripping set. Here's Steve!
Grimacing action!
Bass action with Mike!
Musky sings!
The whole lot!
Rhythm section action!
Bonus Mike!
Steve hits!
Another piece of Steve's gear bites the dust!
The whole lot!
Extra Musky!
Even more Steve!
Feedback action!
Great sounds (and a golden opportunity for my fisheye lens to earn its way).
