Hamilton's TV Freaks made a big impression at 2013's Ottawa Explosion, winning a ton of new fans with a thrilling set. They played another hot set at Mugshots in October of that year alongside Thee Nodes. Even though I was feeling a bit sub par Saturday, I Figured it would be foolish to give it a pass - particularly since the opening act, Brat Kings, was billed as boasting a Sonic Avenues connection (namely, Chance Hutchison, who plays bass in both bands). Here's the hairy fellow himself!
Nick Harris provides snotty vocals and guitar.
Chance sings!
Theo McKibbon mans the drums!
Singalong action!
Extra Chance!
Nick frets!
Smokey action!
Theo hits!
The whole lot!
Shadowy action!
And so on!
On to TV Freaks, who once again ripped it up. Dave is truly one of the great frontmen of rock.
He's a wild guy ....
T.J. frets!
Nathan hits!
Kevin handles the low end!
Sweaty action!
Shirtless action!
Extra Kevin!
Gripping action!
More guitar!
More belly!
TV Freaks will not be served.
Bootless action!
Audience participation action!
A real one-two punch of a show
