Once again, we return to the parched plains of LeBreton Flats and Bluesfest. It was not a day where I had a bunch of stuff on a must-see list. I knew I wanted to enjoy some local acts and catch Charles Bradley again, but other than that I mostly wandered aimlessly. Since I was heading past the main stage area as I entered I naturally pause to bend an ear to Queens, New York's Freelance Whales. Some folks like 'em (and like 'em quite a bit), while others find them a bit of a trifle. I can't say I stuck around a long while, but maybe that was just the siren song of Winchester Warm.
Judah Dadone does most of the songwriting and singing.
Guitar action with Kevin read!
Chuck Criss rocks the synthesizer.
Rhythm section action with Jacob Hyman and Doris Cellar.
Freelance action!
More synth from a musician I don't know.
Singalong action!
More Doris!
They've just wrapped up a tour with a Sandy-delayed New York show.
