Late greats

The Great Sabatini brought the night to an end with some sludgegrindcrunchswampcore - it's a rarified genre. They've been doing a lot of touring lately - they tripped through the U.S. in fall and were sounding super-heavy.

And they're of! Left to right we have a well-mustachioed Rob Sabatini, drummer Steve Vargas and head shouter and guitarist Sean Arsenian.

Matthew of i(heart)music is calling it a day, at least as far as promoting live music is concerned, with one last show at Zaphod's featuring The D'Urbervilles, Loon Choir and The Darcys. Cool Fest X lands at Club Saw with performances by Twig Harper, Chaw Mank, Failing Lights, James Ferraro, Slither, Adam Saikaley and Drainolith. Expect the Raw Sugar to be jammed tonight as The Hilotrons perform; Endemise, Dissentient, House of Horvath, Denounced and Accursed Creation are at Cafe Dekcuf; Alexisonfire, Four Year Strong, Norma Jean and La Dispute are at the Capital Music Hall; Terry Gillespie rolls into Irene's; Brock Zeman and Steve Stacey will be stompin' their feet at the Elmdale House.
