My April in June

Mark Alexander McIntyre is a man of many bands ... maybe not to the level of Davey Quesnelle, but he does have at least three acts on the go: The Band Whose Name Is A Symbol, Cold Coffee and Salty Boots and his solo stuff. Before that he dropped two excellent albums on Ottawa as one-third of Weapons of Mass Seduction and also kicked out some garage rock with The Solid Senders, Four'N'Giv'r and The Trudels. His solo stuff is more in a freak-folk mode, or perhaps lo-fi psych-pop.

Mark lets his freak flag fly (more so than normal).

His co-conspirators for this performance (and perhaps others ... this is the first time I've seen him live), Rance Mok and Bill Geurrero.

No word on future solo shows, but Mark and Bill with both be playing with The Band Whose Name Is A Symbol as part of Gaga Weekend Saturday at Yogi's Meatlocker.
  • Show reminder: Be The Saviour, Greta Knights and As The World Fades are at Zaphod's; Tarantula, The Uncles and The Mudplots  play The Rainbow.
