Loouuuuuuu!

Lou Barlow has certainly been a musician of note for a good long while, starting with his early days in Deep Wound, then on to Dinosaur Jr., Sebadoh, The Folk Implosion and solo. Even when Dinosaur Jr. got back together, he still continued to put out albums by himself, the latest being 2009's Goodnight Unknown. I saw him perform at Babylon a few years ago, just about the time he and Dinosaur Jr. co-founder J Mascis were reconciling over his untimely booting from the band, and it was a nice, low-key performance full of amiable banter before an appreciative audience. Notwithstanding the fact that he was one-third of the headliners, I can't say his reception at this show was all that great. People kept talking and he seemed a bit miffed about it.

Only so many photos you can take of a guy sitting down and playing guitar, particularly when you can't move around. Those who were paying attention seemed to enjoy it - I did, anyway.
