Red hot and dance

Kiss Me Deadly really rocked the house with their dance-oriented 1980s style indie rock - shades of New Order. Though Ottawa was the last day of an extensive North American tour, the band'’s only admission of being tired was Elizabeth'’s confession that after a sickness-free tour she was feeling very under the weather. She certainly didn'’t act it.

Singer-guitarist Emily Elizabeth models the red menace look. The pictures don't do her skintight scarlet lycra bodysuit (or her) justice.

Bassist Mathieu de Montier also sang a couple of songs.

Drummer Erik Petersen - can't think of anything to say about him ...

Guitarist Adam Poulin was a bigger presence on the album; he concentrated on his guitar and operating a drum machine for their Zaphod's set.

Elizabeth lost the hat early on.

Kiss Me Deadly is an active band onstage, with a lot of running around by Elizabeth.

Elizabeth sings in the sexy yelp style of Blonde Redhead's Kazu Makino.

Percussion action!

Low-end action!

Deadly action!

Audience interaction action!

Apart from the one front-and-centre spectator you can see a bit of in the picture above, the audience seemed a little underwhelmed. Perhaps they were all transfixed by the bodysuit? At least some of them took part in a final singalong.
