Around the beginning of May, the nice people at Asher Media invited me to check out on of their clients, Dizzy Mystics, at Mavericks. Also on the bill: Lions Leading Sheep, Lessons In Crime and The Deadseers (who are also performing at Targ this Saturday with Dopethrone). Unfortunately I arrived to late to catch the openers, Lessons In Crime, so we head straight in to the Deadseers' set. Here's Mart and Kevin!

On to Dizzy Mystics, who are touring behind their new album, Wanderlost. They've got a psych-prog sound going on. Here's bassist Aaron and vocalist Kyle!

Evil thoughts
Local punk rock vets Neck have a new album out, and celebrated its release with a show at the Dominion Tavern, alongside Toronto's School Damage. Labelmates Flying Fortress kicked things off. Here's Steel Rider!
And on guitar Mike! Yes, they were flying as a trio for this set.
Brandon sings!
More Mike!
More Steel!
Tapping action!
Even more Steel!
Mike sings!
And so on!
Brandon sings!
On to School Damage, who sped through a set of snotty punk. Here's guitarist and vocalist Brad and a second guitarist whose name I don't know ...
Bass action with Jon!
Curtis hits!
More Brad!
Extra Jon!

Neck wrapped things up by blitzing through tunes from their new LP on Uncle D, You Don't Think It's Evil. Here's Kevin!

It was a multi-layered show.
