I hit up another great show at House of Targ last week; locals Bearshark and Onionface were opening for Montreal's Sick Things. Despite an exceptionally cold night, there was a pretty good-sized crowd on hand. Onionface were up first. Here's Jon and Calvin!

Clapping action!
Well, I guess Calvin had to leave his bass somewhere ....
It's been a couple of years since I last saw Bearshark - not much has changed though, it's still Jeff and Hamish cranking out rough and ready blues. Here's Jeff!
Hamish hits!
Extra Jeff!
More Hamish (who's also keeping busy in Thunderkok these days).

If you caught the Anciients show at House of Targ in August, you likely also heard Barn Burner frontman Kevins' new combo Dead Quiet; well, they're not the only swell band to form in the wake of Barn Burner's flameout. Cam and Pat both served in Barn Burner; Pat also played with Trigger Effect back at their 2010 show at Mavericks opening for Early Man and Priestess. Metal roots aside, The Sick Things sound definitely hails from the 1970s rock'n'roll era: Think Cheap Trick and the like. Here's Cam!
Matt hits!

More Cam and Matt!
Even more Pat!

Fine stuff. They plan to release a record early next year.
